Overview
New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church is a spiritual community located in Williamston, South Carolina. We are
actively seeking a devoted spiritual leader who is called by God to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ; to feed the
flock of God, oversee the ministries of the church, and to serve as a teacher and shepherd of our congregation. We
seek a pastor who is led by the Holy Spirit and adheres to Jesus' teachings, commands, and statutes, as outlined
in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.

The Church
Founded in 1870, New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church has been a beacon of hope, faith, and love for the
community. Our mission is to "Glorify God by proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ. Faithfully build the
Kingdom through our Worship, Gospel Preaching, Bible Teaching, Personal and Corporate Evangelism, Missionary
Efforts and through consistent Christian Living to grow the Church and Community. We clearly understand that
this mission must continue until Christ returns.", and over the years, we have initiated numerous programs and
outreach activities that reflect this vision. We are proud of our diverse congregation that comes together with
the common purpose of worship, spiritual growth, and community service.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Preaching and Teaching: Proclaim the word of God through biblical preaching and teaching.
- Leadership: Provide leadership within the framework of an ‘in-person’ congregational style of church
governance.
- Pastoral Care: Address the needs of the congregation through counseling, prayer, and ministry, including
visits to the sick and shut in.
- Sacraments: Administer the church ordinances of Baptism and the Lord's Supper.
- Missions and Outreach: Take the lead in supporting missions and outreach efforts at local, national, and
international levels.
Qualifications:
- Attest to a Divine Call to serve, ordained in the Baptist Ministry, and meet the qualifications for Pastor
as stated in 1 Timothy 3:1-7.
- Pastoral Experience: 3-5 years preferred.
- Educational Qualifications: Preferably hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree/Divinity Degree from a seminary or
have five years of experience pastoring a Baptist Church.
- Gender: Open to both male or female candidates
- Marital & Family Status: Open to all marital statuses: single, married, divorced, widowed.
- Residential Proximity: Preferred residence within 30 miles and a maximum of 50 miles from the church to
ensure timely response to pastoral duties.
- Preaching/Teaching Commitment: Expected to preach/teach twice (worship service & bible study) a week or as
required by church schedules.
- Affiliated Convention or Association: Open to candidates affiliated with Progressive and the Baptist
Educational & Missionary Conventions of South Carolina or any other related associations, preferred.
Additional Qualifications:
- Doctrinal Beliefs: Must align with the foundational beliefs and doctrines of New Prospect Missionary
Baptist Church.
- Pastoral Care: Demonstrated ability to offer counseling, perform weddings, funerals, and other pastoral
responsibilities.
- Leadership: Ability to lead and guide with biblical principles various church committees, groups, and
events.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Technological Proficiency: Basic understanding of current technology for church administration, online
sermons, or virtual meetings (if relevant).
- Community Engagement: Experience or willingness to engage with the local Williamston, SC community and
represent the church in local events, services, and community programs.

- Qualification Examples: A statement of real-life scenarios or experiences that demonstrate each
qualification.
- Copy of Ordination License: Copies of ministerial license and ordination certificate.
- Certified Academic Transcripts: Copy of degree with official (sealed) transcript from a post-secondary
institution. (Finalist Only)
- Reference Letters: Three (3) letters of reference: One (1) Professional, one (1) from a religious
leader and one (1) personal. (References will be contacted only for semi-finalist candidates.)
- Background & Credit Check: Candidates must be willing to undergo a comprehensive background check at
the candidate's expense, including previous employment, criminal record, and personal references.

- Sermons/Messages: Three (3) recent video-recorded sermons submitted via DVD, MP4, or YouTube (high
quality, HD preferred), delivered within the last six (6) months. If you participated in our "Preacher of
the Month", and would like us to use these sermons, just let us know.
- Photograph: A recent color photograph (Head Shot) in JPG, PNG or PDF format, either 5x7 or 8x10.
Additional Consideration:
- Personal Testimony: Provide a written statement of your personal journey of faith.
- Doctrinal Belief Statement: Provide a written statement of your core doctrinal beliefs.
